Texas Super Doctors 2017

Dr. Charlie Cheng was born in Taiwan. He completed all of his academic and medical training at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk Virginia. After completion of his residency training, he moved to Texas and completed his Vascular Surgery fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  

Dr. Cheng accepted a position as Assistant Professor in The Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 2008. He serves as Program Director for the Vascular Surgery Residency program. Dr. Cheng participates as clinical instructor for several preceptorship training courses with Abbott Vascular, Boston Scientific, W.L. Gore and Associates and Endologix performing carotid stenting, peripheral cases and EVARS.

Dr. Cheng has been nominated by his peers for Texas Super Doctors Rising Stars and Texas Top Doctors awards. He is fluent in Chinese and Taiwanese and conversational Japanese. His hobbies include Tae Kwan Do, (1st degree black belt), weight lifting, painting and cooking. He and his wife currently reside in Pearland, Texas.
