  • Dr. Doulatram received her medical degree from Kilpauk Medical College in 1991. She completed her Internship and Residency of Anesthesiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas. She also completed her Fellowship for Pain Management at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas. She is currently the Pain Fellowship Director at UTMB.

  • Dr. Hustak completed his undergraduate training at The Ohio State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Radiologic Technology in 2004. He then enrolled at The Ohio State University College of Medicine where he graduated Cum Laude in 2008 and earned membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He subsequently completed his Anesthesiology Internship and Residency at UTMB where he earned Anesthesiology Departmental Awards for "Resident of the Year" in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. He served as Chief Resident from 2011-2012 and was awarded "The Outstanding Overall House Officer" that same year among all residents across every specialty at UTMB. He then completed a Cancer Pain Fellowship at MD Anderson where he became proficient in managing complex pain syndromes utilizing a multidisciplinary approach including multimodal pharmacologic treatments and complex interventional techniques to improve quality of life.

    Dr. Hustak joined UTMB in 2013 where he trains medical students, anesthesiology residents, and pain management fellows. His clinical interests include cancer pain management with a focus on interventional techniques including intrathecal drug delivery and neurolytic pain blocks. He also treats chronic non-malignant pain and is particularly interested in spinal cord stimulation. Dr. Hustak is currently board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is active in many quality improvement projects and physician leadership committees at UTMB. He is a loving husband and the father of two beautiful and energetic children.

  • Dr. Romman is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine. He received his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School. He then did residency training in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He went on to complete further training obtaining his Pain Medicine Fellowship at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. After completing fellowship, he returned to UTMB where he is an Assistant Professor practicing in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. He has published research in several major pain medicine journals and currently serves on the editorial board of the research journal Pain Physician.

    Dr. Romman specializes in the treatment of chronic pain conditions. He believes in a multimodal approach to pain that includes interventional procedures, opioid-sparing medications, physical therapy, cognitive aspects, and health maintenance.

  • Dr. Denise Wilkes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology. She is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. She joined the UTMB Pain Medicine Practice in 2007 and treats chronic pain conditions with emphasis on cancer and facial pain. Her practice provides medical management and interventional procedures such as steroid injection, neurolytic blocks, spinal cord stimulator, vertebroplasty, and kyphoplasty.

    Dr. Wilkes is also a researcher. She works with other scientist in the Department of Neurosciences translating basic science discoveries into potential clinical treatments. Her research focus is to study novel therapeutic approaches for neuropathic pain such as gene therapy. The National Institute on Drug Abuse currently funds her research.
