Angela Attaway was born in Dallas, TX. She traveled a lot from an early age, because her father was in the military. She initially received her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Alvin Community College in 1998. She received her Bachelor's degree from UTMB in 2003. She graduated in 2007 from UTMB with her Master's Degree in Nursing specializing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Angela joined the Community Based Clinics in Alvin in September 2014. She has been an RN for the past 18 years. Her nursing experience includes Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Oncology. Prior to joining the Community Based Clinics in Alvin, Angela was the Child Abuse Nurse Practitioner for Galveston County, and practiced as a primary care provider at Island Pediatrics.

Angela has been Certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board since 2007. In 2011, Angela won a Good Samaritan Excellence in Nursing silver medal.

Angela enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves animals and regularly volunteers at the League City animal shelter. She has two rescue dogs of her own.

I grew up in Clear Lake myself, so I was very excited to become a part of this UTMB Clear Lake family. I attended the University of Houston – Main Campus for my bachelor’s degree, and I completed my medical training (medical school and my pediatric residency) in the large Texas Medical Center in Houston. In 2023, I moved back to Clear Lake so that I could give back to this wonderful community.

I have a wonderful husband, and we are lucky to have both our families and fur-siblings in the area. My hobbies include playing tennis (when it’s not too hot outside), playing the piano, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Pediatrics has been my calling since high school. I am blessed to have the opportunity to be able to educate and comfort patients and their family members in some of their most stressful times. I love that I get to watch these children grow from newborns into wonderful young adults and help them along the way.

Being a growing child (or even raising one) isn’t easy! Every patient brings their own story, challenges, and personality, and each of them has something to teach me. I just strive to be a positive light during their journeys and work to keep my patients safe, healthy, and happy.

Alma Chavez began her career as a licensed vocational nurse and worked with the indigent at Harris County Hospital District for 5 years. Striving to advance her skills, she received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1999. It was then that she continued to work with the indigent spending eleven years as a specialty trained RN, providing well child exams to children of all ages. Her passion for patient care then drove her to earn her Master's of Science in Nursing from UTMB, specializing in family practice.

Alma is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and joined the family of caregivers at UTMB Health Pediatrics, Texas City in 2012.

Amy Haverty received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1994. She spent five years as an RN on active duty with the Army. While in the Army, Amy worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Pediatrics Unit, and the Combat Support Hospital. In 1999, Amy joined UTMB Pediatric Associates in Galveston, working as Nursing Manager. She joined UTMB Pediatric Associates Alvin in 2007, after earning her Master's of Science in Nursing from UTMB, specializing in pediatrics. Amy currently cares for patients at the Friendswood Pediatric and Adult Care Clinic.

Amy is board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Her special interests include child nutrition and immunizations. Amy volunteers with local scouting organizations, providing medical services and training.

Dr. Isaac J. Koh, MD, MPH, FAAFP is a board certified family medicine physician. He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California in 2017 and completed his family medicine residency at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio in 2020 during which he received the Society of Teachers in Family Medicine Resident Teaching Award. He started his career as core faculty for Kettering Health’s family medicine and transitional year residency. Since then, he received the Degree of Fellow from the American Academy of Family Medicine, coauthored a $1.9M US FDA HRSA Grant dedicated to rural healthcare, was promoted to Program Director to train transitional resident physicians at Soin Medical Center, and appointed Assistant Dean for Loma Linda University medical students at the Ohio-based regional campus. In 2022, he and his wife welcomed their first child and priorities in life changed. In 2023, he and his wife decided to move closer to a large, extended family in the Houston and Galveston area.

As a family physician, I strive to deliver timely, dynamic, compassionate, and evidence-based care to all patients from all walks of life. And I look forward to serving the Friendswood and surrounding area with the experience and capabilities I have gleaned thus far.

The two things that have driven me the most in my career have been problem solving patient’s needs, and teaching - whether it be patients, medical students, resident physicians, peers, or kids on the soccer pitch. When I am not at work, I enjoy watching all sports, digital and analog photography, and exploring and traveling with my wife and son.

Dr. Maria P. Nguyen joined the UTMB Pediatric Community Based Clinics in 2001. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston after earning her doctor of medicine from Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. She earned two bachelor's degrees from the University of California at Irvine, one in biology and one in psychology.

Dr. Nguyen is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Nguyen's passion is to provide high quality and compassionate medical care.

She has special interests in asthma management and adolescent medicine.

Her dedication to educating medical students earned her the following honors: UTMB Community Preceptor Award in 2012 and Teacher of Distinction (TOP DOC) Award in 2019 and 2012.

Dr. Nguyen is fluent in both English and Vietnamese.

Dr. Lauren Raimer-Goodman was born on Galveston Island and grew up as part of the UTMB family. She officially joined UTMB Health in October 2011. After completing her undergraduate work at Wake Forest University, she attended Baylor College of Medicine where she received her medical degree in 2008. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Texas Children's Hospital in 2011.

Dr. Raimer-Goodman is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Texas Medical Association. She has a special interest in pediatric advocacy and global health. Her husband, Dr. Michael Goodman, is a researcher in public health with a focus on social epidemiology and global health. They have two delightful children whom they adore.

Clinically, Dr. Raimer-Goodman has many interests including infants, breastfeeding, asthma, allergies, acne, eczema and other skin disorders, sports related injuries, healthy eating and much more.

Dr. Crystal Sierra joined UTMB Health in November 2010.  After completing her undergraduate studies at The University of Texas - Pan American in Edinburg, Texas, Dr. Sierra earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2006. In 2009, she completed her Residency in Pediatrics at UTMB. Prior to working for UTMB, Dr. Sierra worked as a pediatrician in Clear Lake.

Dr. Sierra is board certified by The American Board of Pediatrics. She is also certified in Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She has her Texas medical license, and is a member of The American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Sierra is married to Dr. James T. Sierra, a dentist in Friendswood, and they have two beautiful daughters, Gabriella and Francesca.  Dr. Sierra is fluent in Spanish and also enjoys reading and traveling with her family in her spare time.  She has enjoyed living in the area, and is excited to be giving back to the community!

I am MBSR (Mindfulness Base Stress Reduction) certified, and a Board-certified pediatrician, with a passion for promoting well-being and mental health.

When not working with patients, I love to travel with my family and explore new cultures. I enjoy going to musical theater a passion I share with my kids. I also enjoy reading and attending book club with friends, where I can engage in lively discussion about literature and life.

My ultimate goal is to provide the best care possible to patients as they navigate through each developmental stage. I believe in being there for patients and their families during the process, offering support and guidance every step of the way.

Dr. Syed K. Kazmi joined UTMB Pediatric Community Based Clinics in 1994. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He received his doctorate from Universidad Technologica de Santiago Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and his masters of public health from Tulane School of Public Health in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Kazmi has a special interest in community health education and the uses of homeopathic medicines, earning a diploma in Homeopathy from Galein College, United Kingdom.

In addition to serving as the Medical Director of UTMB Health Pediatrics in Alvin, Dr. Kazmi is the Medical Director of a Houston based charity clinic. He is an active member of the community, working with the Alvin Independent School District as a consultant and as the Alvin City Health Officer.

Dr. Kazmi sees general pediatric patients and is multi-lingual in English, Spanish, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
