She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 2013, and her Master's Degree in Women's Health from the University of Cincinnati in 2016.

    She is currently a member of The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), Minority Nurses association, and National Black Nurse Practitioner Association (NBNPA). Tomeka is married with 3 children and outside of her professional and educational obligations she loves spending time with her family and serving at her local church.

  • Emily was born in Franklin, Massachusetts, where she lived until moving to Texas in middle school. Her family relocated to the greater Houston area where she attended Clear Lake High School.

    Emily attended the University of Texas at Austin after beginning her education at San Jacinto Community College. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Fall 2014. Following graduation, she accepted a full-time RN position at Memorial Hermann Hospital TMC on the Labor & Delivery unit.     In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and participating in activities such as running half-marathons, live music, and riding motorcycles with friends. At the end of the day, she appreciates coming home to her family and pets.
