  • Dr. Beena Thomas joined The Children's Clinic of Clear Lake in 2006. She attended Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She was accepted into the residency program at UTMB where she trained with Dr. Quillin. In 2000, she started her practice in the Houston Medical Center and at Texas Children's Hospital until she joined Dr. Quillin in 2006.

    Dr. Thomas is board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics.  She has extensive experience in adolescent care from her years in the Medical Center. She loves all her new babies, yet her area of interest still remains in those challenging adolescent years.

  • Dr. James Yao Doe was born and raised in Ghana. He attended University of Science and Technology in Ghana where he completed his medical training. Upon completion, he worked as a general medical practitioner at Koforidua Regional Hospital and then Battor Catholic Hospital (both in Ghana), before relocating to the United States.

    He was a resident in the Department of Family Medicine at University of Oklahoma in Tulsa. After completing residency, Dr. Doe initially worked as a locum doctor both in Oklahoma and in Houston, Texas seeing patients in primary care clinics, urgent care clinics and emergency rooms. He was then employed by the Coastal Health and Wellness Clinic (former 4c's Clinic) and then by University of Texas Medical Branch Correctional Managed Care. Dr. Doe recently joined the UTMB Community Based Clinics in March of 2016.

    He is actively involved in Texas Association of Family Physicians Galveston Branch. Dr. Doe and his family are active members of the Ghanaian community in Greater Houston.

  • Stephen Granger, DO is originally from Lafayette, Louisiana. He received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in biology with a minor in chemistry. Following this, he attended medical school at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, MS. He completed residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, OK, and was appointed as Chief Resident for the 2020-2021 residency year.

    Dr. Granger strives to provide patient-centered healthcare tailored to his patients’ needs. He pursued family medicine because he wanted to care for patients from all walks of life, ranging from birth to late adulthood.   • Dr. Maria P. Nguyen joined the UTMB Pediatric Community Based Clinics in 2001. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston after earning her doctor of medicine from Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. She earned two bachelor's degrees from the University of California at Irvine, one in biology and one in psychology.
