  • Dr. Annie G. Goodwin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. Dr. Goodwin received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Brown University. She attended medical school at the University of Connecticut and completed her residency in general pediatrics at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She completed her Pediatric GI Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas.

    Dr. Goodwin treats patients from birth through adolescence with a variety of gastroenterological disorders including reflux, failure to thrive, constipation, encopresis, abdominal pain, and vomiting. She has a special clinical interest in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease and has conducted research in the intestinal microbiome in the treatment of intestinal inflammation.

  • Dr. Sheharyar Merwat's practice is focused on the treatment of liver disease and managing the medical complexities of patients needing a liver transplant.   • Dr. Gabriel L. Reep is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine. He received a B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, TX in 2004 and an M.D. degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 2006. During his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch, he was awarded Outstanding Intern Performance in Clinic and as well as outstanding 3rd Year Resident Performance in Clinic. He also was inducted into the Dame Cicely Saunders Society for exemplary care in palliative medicine. He served on the UTMB Quality of Care Committee as a House Staff representative during his 3rd year of residency and continues to have an active interest in quality improvement.

    Most recently he worked on the UTMB internal medicine clinic Pneumovax quality improvement project. Currently he is working as a Hospitalist treating acute medical problems that require inpatient care. This allows him to maintain a very close relationship with the UTMB medical school and residency program, as well as to participate in the education and training of future physicians.
