Dr. Phillip Lee is Professor of Pediatrics and Director of Pediatric Endocrinology at UTMB. He received his M.D. at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University followed by a pediatric internship at UTMB, pediatric residency at Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago and postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Stanford University.
Dr. Lee's previous faculty appointments have included Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Assistant Professor and Acting-Chief of the Texas Children's Hospital Diabetes Care Center at Baylor College of Medicine, Attending Pediatric Endocrinologist at Children's Hospital Oakland, Director of Endocrinology at Children's Hospital Orange County and, most recently, Professor and Clinical Director of Pediatric Endocrinology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Lee has also previously served as Director of Research and Scientific Affairs at Diagnostic Systems Laboratories, Inc. in Webster, TX, Technical Director at Immunodiagnostic Systems Ltd in the England, Senior Medical Director in Endocrinology and Fertility clinical development at EMD Serono Inc. in Rockland, MA and Principal Medical Scientific Expert in cardiovascular-metabolism at Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Lee's scientific and medical publications include book chapters, clinical reviews and more than 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts. His research and clinical interests include growth factors, biomarker assay development, disorders of growth and development, obesity, diabetes, and Prader-Willi syndrome.
