Dr. Miguel Nunez-Burgos joined UTMB Community Based Clinics in August 2015.  His career started in Bergen County New Jersey in a primary care private practice and in nursing homes managing many chronic diseases.

He received his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre Y Maestra (PUCMM), Santiago, Dominican Republic and completed his Internal Medicine Residency in 2014 at the Brooklyn Hospital.  Dr. Nunez is board certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Nunez is Bilingual and cares for adult patients of all ages. His interests include prevention and management of chronic diseases and diabetes. He looks forward to educating his patients about their diseases so that they can have a better understanding of them, more interest in their treatment, so we have better results.

In his free time, Dr. Nunez loves singing, spending time with his family, and enjoys traveling and getting to know different cultures. Understanding the culture of his patients also results in a better patient-physician relation and better treatment results.

I really like Dr. Nunez. The problem with this visit was that 90% of my time was with an intern that I felt her my injury more than when I walked in. He also had a very poor way of speaking with a patient. I would be very happy to be seen by Dr. Nunez but not by anyone UTMB interns.Jan 22,2019
