He completed internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. He joined the faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2017. He is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at UTMB and Deputy Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. He is active clinically and supervises doctors in training at Jennie Sealy Hospital, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Hospital, infectious diseases and HIV clinic, and the St. Vincent's Student clinic. He is actively involved in resident and fellow education, delivering lectures, and has taught medical students in the Practice of Medicine course.
