Dr. Ikram joined UTMB Health's Department of Family Medicine in 2023. He currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor and will serve as faculty on the Family Medicine Inpatient Service as well as see patients at all three of our Family Medicine Clinics - Dickinson, Island East and Island West.

Dr. Ikram earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center Medical School in Fort Worth, Texas. and completed his family medicine residency training at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Dr. Zuleica Santiago-Delgado joined the Department of Family Medicine in 2018. She is a family physician at the Family Medicine Clinic - Island East with a focus in women's health and obstetrics. Dr. Santiago-Delgado earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and a Doctorate of Medicine from Ponce Health Science University in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Santiago-Delgado completed her residency training at UTMB Health.

Dr. Santiago-Delgado is a board certified family physician and her academic and clinical interests include women's health, academic medicine, and underserved population medicine.

Dr. Mathis is an Assistant Professor, Family Medicine in the UTMB Health Department of Family Medicine.

Dr. Mathis earned a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas. He completed training with the Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Sugarland, Texas.

Dr. Mathis is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He also completed a fellowship with the UTMB Health Integrative and Behavioral Medicine Fellowship program and completed his advanced certification in clinical acupuncture.

Dr. Porterfield has lived all over the world, from Latin America to parts of Asia. Her areas of clinical and research interest include health equity, population health, clinical vaccinology, diabetes, international/immigrant health, women's health, and graduate medical education. Dr. Porterfield chose family medicine because she enjoys the challenge of caring for people across the full spectrum of life-stages and because she believes in the importance of caring—not just for individual patients—but also whole families and communities.

Dr. Porterfield is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, an investigator for the Sealy Institute for Vaccine Sciences, and the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations in Family Medicine.

Dr. Porterfield joined the Department of Family Medicine in 2014 after completing her residency with the UTMB Health Family Medicine Residency Program with a concentration in behavioral medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from Wheaton College, a Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, and a Master of Public Health from University of North Texas Health Science Center.
