Angela Orozco is a compassionate and experienced Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing personalized, high-quality care for patients of all ages. She obtained a Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas at Arlington. Angela brings advanced medical knowledge and hands on experience in primary care pediatrics, family medicine, geriatrics and women’s health. She is skilled at managing everything from routine checkups and preventive care to chronic conditions and urgent health concerns. She believes in listening carefully to each patient, creating individualized care plans and making sure you feel supported and well informed about your health. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends, which helps her stay balanced and bring a well-rounded perspective to my practice.

Providing care for adults of all ages, I enjoy educating my patients about their current health condition and recommending ways to improve it. My main focus is on prevention of chronic illness and disease. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family, reading, and being active.

Dr. Pilgrim joined UTMB Health’s Department of Family Medicine in 2021 as a Resident in training. He currently holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor as a board certified Family Medicine Physician. Dr. Pilgrim received a Bachelor of Science and graduated from The University of Houston Downtown in Houston, Texas. He then earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch. His areas of special clinical interest include Lifestyle Medicine, Weight Loss, Diabetes, Smoking Cessation, and Mental Health. Dr. Pilgrim chose family medicine because he enjoys the challenge of caring for people across the full spectrum of life-stages and because he believes in the importance of caring for not just individuals, but for families as a whole.

In his free time he enjoys spending quality time with family, getting outdoors, listening to audiobooks, and a variety of activities centered around physical fitness.

Tiffany Perez, DO is originally from Houston, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Following this, she attended medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama. She completed residency at Oklahoma State University/OMECO Teaching Health Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Dr. Perez puts the needs of her patients at the forefront of everything she does and continually strives to deliver the best levels of patient care at all times. She pursued family medicine because she enjoys taking care of patients of all ages and backgrounds. Her clinical interests include minor procedures, women's health, and preventive medicine.

Dr. Perez’s hobbies include spending time with family, playing with her dog, and traveling. She is excited to join UTMB and hopes to make a positive impact in the community.

Sonia Sood is a board certified family physician and has been in practice for twenty-five years and has been practicing in the League City area for fifteen years.

She provides comprehensive care for adults of all ages. Her interests include prevention and management of diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic diseases. She believes in personalized counseling and forming a plan for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

She lives in League City and enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys traveling and is an avid marathon runner.

Melanie Gray was born in Houston, TX and raised in the once small town of Pearland, TX. She initially received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from UTMB in 2004, graduating with honors. After working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Texas Children's Hospital and in the Day Surgery Unit at University General Hospital, she pursued her master's degree at UTMB. With two young girls, one on the way, and the help of her husband, she received her Master's of Science in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015.

With a passion for primary care, she accepted a position at Texas Gulf Coast Medical Group in 2016. At TGCMG, she grew as a nurse practitioner and served as a preceptor. Recently, she joined the Primary and Specialty Care Clinic at UTMB.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She can usually be found hustling kids to different activities or enjoying time outdoors.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of Family Medicine for Dr. Banga are the bonds that she builds with her patients over the course of their lives and the enjoyment in keeping them healthy and well.

Her clinical areas of special interest are Lifestyle and Preventive Medicine as well as Nutrition.

In her free time, she enjoy music, traveling and gardening.

Dr Lorena Salcedo was born in Bogota, Colombia. She completed part of her education in Montreal, Canada before moving to Dallas, Texas. She completed her undergraduate education with honors from the University of Texas at Dallas in Mathematics. Dr Salcedo obtained her MD from the UTMB School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Texas.

Dr Salcedo has a passion for International Medicine and Global Health. She has participated in Medical Missions in Kenya, Vietnam, Costa Rica and Guatemala. She is fluent in Spanish, English and French and enjoys serving a multicultural population. Her clinical interests include minor procedures, Women's Health, and preventive medicine.

In her free time, Dr Salcedo enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband who is also a physician and practices Neurological Surgery at UTMB. She is proud to be a member of the UTMB team and looks forward to making a difference in our community

Emily Smith was born and raised in Beaumont, TX. She received a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2010. She then went on to pursue nursing and received her Bachelor's in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2012.

She worked as an emergency room nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital and then for five years worked for Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center as a trauma nurse. While working full time as a trauma nurse, she went back to school for her Master's degree at UTMB. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA with her Master's in Nursing, specializing in family practice. She has worked urgent care for UTMB since 2017 and began working full time at Webster Adult Primary Care in 2018.

Emily is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and daughter.
