Dr. Namita Bhardwaj is a native Houstonian. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin where she completed her undergraduate coursework in biology and earned her Bachelors of Science and Bachelors of Arts. She went on to attend Ross University to complete her medical education and to earn her MD.

Dr. Bhardwaj completed her family medicine residency at UT Health in Houston, TX. She served as chief resident in her final year of training and was recognized as an outstanding PGY 3 resident and awarded the Scholarly Achievement Award. Dr. Bhardwaj then went on to pursue her fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in El Paso. There she served as team physician for several of the local teams including the El Paso Rhinos, University of Texas at El Paso Division I Sports teams, as well as area high schools covering a wide array of sports.

In her role at UTMB, Dr. Bhardwaj serves as the medical director for Galveston ISD. You can always find her and her team of residents and students on the sidelines at Ball High School football games. Dr. Bhardwaj's scholarly interests include opioids and sports related injuries. She has also served as Physician of the Day for the Texas Legislature. Dr. Bhardwaj enjoys attending sporting events, spending time with family and friends, reading and traveling in her spare time.

Caitlyn McDonald, FNP-C has been a nurse practitioner in women's healthcare since 2019, with experience in Breast Health and Obstetrics/Gynecology. She completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2010 at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She began working in Labor and Delivery and the Ob/Gyn clinic as a registered nurse in 2010.

After 8 years of working as a registered nurse, she decided to further her career by completing a Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2018 at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She has a true passion for women's healthcare.

Dr. Trish Beach is Professor of Pediatrics, Co-Director of the Division of General Academic Pediatrics at UTMB and Director of the Child Safety and Protection Team. She graduated from medical school at the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed her residency and Chief residency at UTMB.

Dr. Beach has been very active in medical care in the Department of Pediatrics. She spent many years as a pediatric educator, including roles with the Academic Pediatric Association and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Her professional practice has shifted to a role in the assessment and prevention of child maltreatment in recent years. She continues active participation in the education of UTMB medical students and pediatric residents. She maintains a small practice in general pediatrics and a practice focusing on the special needs of children involved in the foster care system.

Dr. Beach has been honored for her teaching excellence with the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Resident Education, the Department of Pediatrics Outstanding Junior Faculty Award for Education, and the Pediatric Educator Award for Excellence in Medical Student Education. She is Past-chair of the John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine at UTMB, an entity charged with sustaining a culture that values and practices principles of scientifically-based compassionate care at UTMB, and modeling these principles for our learners.

A well-respected physician, Dr. Beach has been honored several times by Super Doctors®, an award given to selected physicians across the state based upon peer and patient recommendations.

Dr. Abbey Berenson is a Professor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology who specializes in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and Women's Health Care.   She is also the Director of the UTMB Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Women's Health Care.  Dr. Berenson received her medical degree and completed her residency at the Baylor College of Medicine and received a Ph.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch.   Dr. Berenson is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Her clinical interest include Women's Health Care research, HPV vaccines and vaccination, and contraception.

Dr. Berenson's research interests involve the study of reproductive-aged women's health. Her interest include: Comparative effectiveness studies among diverse populations of young women; Contraception practices, methods, and effects (clinical); and Interventions directed at cervical cancer prevention (clinical).  She is also studying the quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine that requires three injections spaced 1 month and 6 months after the first vaccine, and is intended for use by adolescents and adults 9-26 years of age.

Tammie Michael completed her Associates Degree in Nursing at Galveston College in Galveston, Texas in 2005 on the National Dean's List. She then completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Arlington and Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Upon completion of her MSN, Tammie joined UTMB as a Nephrology Nurse Clinician and later transitioned to Geriatrics as an Adult- Geriatric Nurse practitioner heading the House Call Program. She is also a specialty certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse. Tammie is currently a BSN Clinical Instructor at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing. She is also an active member of organizations such as the Galveston Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses, Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners Association, and the Texas Nurse Practitioners Political Action Committee.

Prior to acquiring her Nurse Practitioner's license in 2015, Adetutu worked as an RN in the TDCJ Women's Unit for nine years. In her role as Nurse Practitioner, she will be working primarily on a grant, "Identifying Therapeutic Targets of Accelerated Sarcopenia".

Dr. Anita Rao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, division of pediatric urgent care. She received her M.D. from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Kathleen Vincent is a Professor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology who specializes in Gynecologic Ultrasound and Women's Health Care.  Dr. Vincent received her medical degree and completed her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. She also completed a fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Vincent is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Vincent's clinical interest include Gynecologic Ultrasound and Ultrasound guided procedures. Her research interest includes HIV and Sexually Transmitted Disease Prevention, Application of Biomedical Engineering Technologies to Women's Health Care, High resolution endoscopic imaging, high resolution ultrasound imaging, and MicroCT.

Dr. Vincent has received several honors which include the "Golden Apple"  Teaching Award.

Dr. Yang joined UTMB in 2019 and he is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in Pediatric Urgent Care. Dr. Yang completed his M.D. and pediatric surgery fellowship in 1997 through the Combined Program, and subsequently completed his PhD training in Molecular Oncology in 2001 from China Medical University.

Dr. Yang worked in UT M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Texas from 2001 to 2010. Dr. Yang completed pediatric residency in New York Medical College (Richmond) Pediatric Residency Program from 2010 to 2013, where he served as the Chief Resident in the last year of residency. Dr. Yang worked as a pediatric Board-certified physician at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa Texas from 2014 to 2019 and at Texas Children's Hospital Pediatric Urgent Care from 2017-2019.
