Dr. Megan Berman earned her medical degree at Loyola University in Chicago and completed her residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. She worked as a hospitalist in South Carolina prior to joining faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2008. She is an Assistant Professor of General Medicine at UTMB and Medical Director of the Anticoagulation Clinic. She is active clinically with a private clinic at Harborside Medical Group as well as supervising doctors in training at Jennie Sealy Hospital, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Hospital, and the Daniels clinic. She is involved in resident education, delivering lectures, and has taught medical students in the Practice of Medicine course. Dr. Berman has a particular interest in assessing and improving the quality of care delivered to all patients. She has completed the MD Anderson Clinical safety and Effectiveness Program and is actively pursuing projects to improve quality and efficiency of care.

Dr. Cindy Chan has been with the University of Texas Medical Branch since 2004, including during her Medical School training and Internal Medicine Residency training. After graduation, she served as a Chief Resident until June 2012, where she then became an assistant professor.

Dr. Chan's interests include quality outpatient care education, patient centered medical homes, and care of chronic medical conditions.

Dr. Clark joined UTMB in 2008 after completing his residency at UTMB in Galveston and his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was appointed the medical director of the Internal Medicine residency clinic and has been engaged in clinic process improvement to provide quality care for the patients and the best learning environment for residents. Dr. Clark is heavily involved with quality improvement efforts in the clinics as well as the hospital. He gained training in the field of health care quality by attending the MD Anderson Cancer Center Clinical Safety and Effectiveness course.

Shelly Doss is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner currently practicing at The University of Texas Medical Branch. She has provided critical care in surgery, trauma, burn and transplant intensive care units in a variety of academic medical centers. She obtained a master's degree in critical care/education and worked in the emergency department and in critical care units for the Department of Defense where she taught Advanced Cardiac Life Support and the Trauma Nursing Core Course at William Beaumont Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Air Force Medical Center.

She has served as a faculty member at the University of Texas Medical Branch and at Texas Woman's University/ Parkland Campus in Dallas. She returned to Texas Woman's University to obtain a postgraduate certification as a family nurse practitioner and after several years in a collaborative internal medicine practice in San Antonio, she returned to the University of Texas Medical Branch and worked in the Division of Cardiology for thirteen years.

She is now practicing in Internal Medicine and enjoys providing comprehensive, individualized patient care. In addition, she works in collaboration with others teaching medical residents and nursing students empathy in clinical practice and conflict management. Her research interests are focused in biomedical ethics. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.

Susan Easley, MD is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Academy of Family Practice. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Missouri State University graduating summa cum laude in the Honors College; and received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Missouri – Columbia.

Dr. Easley completed two years of her Family Medicine residency at the University of Missouri, Columbia and finished her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Maryland. Upon completion of her residency she practiced for 10 years with Maryland Primary Care Physicians until moving to Texas with her family in 2010.

Dr. Easley enjoys treating the entire family and being a part of the League City community. She enjoys sailing, is an avid reader, and teaches Jazzercise in her free time. Dr Easley is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the Texas Academy of Family Practice.

Samantha Green was born and raised in Galveston, Texas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UTMB Galveston in April 2012 and with a Master of Science in Nursing from UT Health Science Center in Houston, Texas in December 2020. She worked as an RN in Labor and Delivery for 6 years and for 2 years as a circulating nurse in the Operating Room specializing in gynecological procedures.

Samantha has a passion for Women's health and is proud to serve the community in which she was raised.

Alberto Gutierrez completed his medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He worked as faculty at the Vermont Medical Center in 2016 before joining faculty at UTMB in 2018.

He focuses on outpatient care and preventive services. He places a strong emphasis on patient education to improve outcomes and previously taught clinical skills to physicians in training. He is currently accepting patients at the Primary Care Pavilion and is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Herrera received her medical degree from St. George’s University and completed her family medicine residency at UTMB. She enjoys building lifelong relationships with her patients and educating them on all aspects of their health. She has a particular interest in women’s health and preventative medicine. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, and also enjoys traveling.

Dr. Hoffmann is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston as well. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University at College Station. His professional interests include resident and medical school education. Also has an interest in preventative medicine, such as management of chronic hypertension and diabetes.
