  • My name is Nyajuok Wur. I am originally from South Sudan, born in Ethiopia, raised in Minnesota and currently living in Houston, TX.   • Dr. Patricia Ann Rogers is a Professor of Pediatrics at UTMB. She joined UTMB Department of Pediatrics in 2004 and has been faculty at UTMB since 1998. Dr. Rogers is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She received her doctorate from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences (School of Medicine) in Memphis, TN. Dr.Rogers completed her pediatric residency at UTMB in Galveston, TX.

    Dr. Rogers has a special interest in teaching medical students and residents. She has received numerous teaching awards including two awards for Excellence in Clinical teaching by the John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine.  In addition to holding the tittle of Distinguished Teaching Professor, member of the University of Texas Academy of Health and Science education, Dr. Rogers serves as the director of the School Health Program at UTMB.

Dr. Sim is a proud mother of 3 children; Tom, diagnosed with Autism, graduated from University of Houston in HRM, currently employed at UTMB Health Clear Lake Campus hospital; Timmy, graduated from Baylor University with a BS in Biology, currently schooling in Computer Science at UHCL; and Theresa, graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering from UT Austin. I feel empathetic to parents with children with disability. I feel a need to share my family's story about my eldest son with Autism and maybe can inspire somebody like him to strive and succeed.

  • I am excited to be back in the Galveston County area! I am originally from Dickinson, Texas, and my family still resides there. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry with a minor in German Lingual Studies from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and my Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. I completed my rural family medicine training at Waco Family Medicine where I worked at a Federally Qualified Health Center for the medically underserved.
