  • Dr. Sidra Qureshi is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine. Her educational background includes a B.S. in Biology from Trinity University in 2010 and an M.D. degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in 2014.

    During her internship and residency Dr. Qureshi was an active member of the House Staff and was selected to serve as Chief Resident from 2017 – 2018. She joined the Internal Medicine faculty practice in July 2018. She currently serves as one of the Associate Program Directors of the Internal Medicine Residency Program.

    Currently, Dr. Qureshi practices in the Outpatient and Inpatient setting. She has a passion for resident education, and enjoys precepting residents in clinic and serving as an attending on the inpatient service. Her interests include finding innovative approaches to Resident education and wellness, and she has been a proponent of the Social Media outreach of the Residency.   • Dr. Sahai currently serves as a Professor and Division Chief of General Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB). Prior to moving to UTMB in February 2020, he was on the faculty of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where he served as the Chief of the Section of Consultative Medicine in the Department of General Internal Medicine. and was part of the leadership team of the Perioperative Evaluation and Management (POEM) Center. His undergraduate education was at Tulane University, followed by medical school at the UTMB. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

    He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Sahai has completed a board certification in Medical Quality, as well as a graduate certificate in Health Care Management from Rice University School of Business.

    Dr. Sahai is an advocate for patients being a partner in their healthcare and is recognized internationally as an expert in the perioperative care of the cancer patient.

  • Dr. Thomas Blackwell received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, and completed his residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.  Dr. Blackwell is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine.  His special interests are student and residency education.

    Dr. Blackwell is the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Professor of General Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch.  In addition to a busy private practice, he has major administrative and teaching duties at UTMB.  As the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education, he has administrative oversight of 50+ residencies and approximately 590 residents / fellows in training.  Previously, he was the Director for the Division of General Internal Medicine and the Medical Director for the Harborside Medical Group.  Also, he was the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency training program for 19 years.

    At a national level, Dr. Blackwell has been selected for a 6-year appointment as a member of the ACGME Accreditation Appeals Panel for Internal Medicine.  He is the past chair of the Internal Medicine Residency Review Committee, which regulates all training in Internal Medicine and its subspecialties.  He was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Internal Medicine from 2004 - 2008.

  • Dr. Megan Berman earned her medical degree at Loyola University in Chicago and completed her residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. She worked as a hospitalist in South Carolina prior to joining faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2008. She is an Assistant Professor of General Medicine at UTMB and Medical Director of the Anticoagulation Clinic.
