Dora Pedraza has been a nurse practitioner in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UTMB since 2009. Dora was previously a nurse in Labor and Deliver at UTMB Galveston Campus for 9 years.

She obtained her Associates degree in Nursing in 2000. She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2006. Later, in 2009, she graduated as a Nurse Practitioner and began practicing with the Women's Healthcare Faculty Group.

She is an active member with ACOG, NPWH and NAMS. Her clinical interest include preventive wellness, diabetic teaching in pregnancy and contraception counseling and management.

Her hobbies include repurposing/refurbishing furniture pieces and décor. She also enjoys crafting.

Dawn Short, DNP, MBA, CNM is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing. She achieved her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Dawn's doctoral candidacy endeavored in improving patient contraceptive education, especially around Long Acting Reversible Contraception. Dawn practices as an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife. Her clinical interests include Obstetrics, Women’s Health, Family Planning, and Breast and Cervical Cancer prevention.

Dawn also serves as one of the Regional Directors of UTMB Regional Women's Services and Pediatrics program (formerly RMCHP). She is married with 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and relaxing with family and friends.

Adriana Corvera-Cyrus is a graduate of University of Texas Health Science Center Houston where she received her Master Science in Nursing. She is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Her clinical interests include Ob/Gyn and Pediatrics .

She, her husband and daughter live in the Richmond/Rosenberg area. In her free time she enjoys Crossfit and hanging out with their pups.

Clinical areas of interest are obstetrics and gynecology. Background, prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health Care, was in the area of Labor and Delivery as both a staff nurse and manager. Therefore, providing prenatal care is especially rewarding.

Personal hobbies and interests include movies, books, spending time with grandchildren, and enjoying country life.

Dr. Calasanz is a native Texan and grew up in the Clear Lake area. She lived in Singapore for 5 years during her junior high and early high school years before returning to Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Biology and was named the Outstanding Biology Graduate. While at TTUHSC School of Medicine, she received the Research and Scholarship in Surgery Award. Then she completed her residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, with the majority of her training spent at Parkland Hospital, which is one of the busiest maternity centers in the country. Dr. Calasanz’ professional interests include all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, especially adolescent gynecology and the first well-woman exam. She is fluent in English and conversational Spanish. She has volunteered at the Health Museum and San Jose Clinic in Houston and has also participated in medical missions to Mexico and El Salvador. Dr. Calasanz is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, Harris County Medical Society, Houston Gynecological & Obstetrical Society, and Texas Medical Association. She enjoys mentoring aspiring medical students and participating in mock interviews. She is a Houston Texans football fan and also enjoys cooking, attending musicals, and traveling.

Dr. Elizabeth Cloninger was born and raised in Southeast Texas and has been practicing in the ClearLake-League City area since 2013, most recently coming to UTMB from Houston Methodist in Clear Lake, where she saw patients and acted as the medical director from 2017-2019. Her areas of interest include high-risk obstetrics, family planning, well woman care, and management of heavy menstrual cycles.

Dr. Cloninger attended UTMB in Galveston for both medical school and later residency. While in residency, she received awards such as resident of the quarter, physician of the month, and the Golden Apple award for medical student teaching.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Cloninger graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in College Station with a degree in genetics.

Dr. Cloninger is happy to be rejoining the UTMB system that trained her. In her free time, Dr. Cloninger enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband.

Aisha Olaleye, APRN, CNM, is originally from Nigeria, where she grew up until moving to the US in 2001. Aisha graduated from the University of Cincinnati and obtained her advanced midwifery training. She additionally received certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board. She started her professional career in Nigeria, with an associate degree in Nursing in 1996 and a Midwifery Certificate in 1999. She then obtained her bachelor's degree in nursing in 2013 from the University of Texas-Arlington. These extensive years have enabled versatile specialties, clinical work experiences, and exceptional commitment to women’s health with highly rated employers in Houston.

Aisha’s clinical interests include Women's Health, Obstetrics, and gynecology, emphasizing counseling and health maintenance. Aisha is a passionate provider who provides the best holistic, personalized care.

Furthermore, Aisha has received many awards/honors, such as; “One of the 150 Outstanding Nurses” in Houston by the Houston Chronicle and a bronze winner of the “Good Samaritan Excellence in Nursing” award granted by the Good Samaritan Foundation. Aisha enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, dancing, and reading
