About Me
Dr. Odigie-Okon is a seasoned Advanced Cardiac Imaging Cardiologist. She is the Medical Director of Cardiac MRI and co-Director of Cardiac CT. She is board-certified in five specialties including Cardiovascular Disease, Cardiovascular MRI, Cardiovascular CT, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology, reflecting her commitment to excellence in cardiovascular imaging. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology where she is in the cardiovascular imaging section, and she serves on the international outreach and abstract review committees in the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. Dr. Odigie-Okon is passionate about leveraging advanced cardiac imaging technologies to enhance patient outcomes and is known for her engaging teaching style, compassionate patient care and enhancing the learning experience for future healthcare providers.
Prior to matriculating at UTMB, she served as the Medical Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging & Non-invasive Cardiology at Christus Trinity Mother of Frances-Louis and Peaches Owens Heart Hospital, where she significantly enhanced patient care delivery in Cardiac MRI, Cardiac CT, structural Echocardiography and nuclear imaging, leading to substantial increases in imaging quality and appropriate volumes. She also spearheaded the adoption of the first CTFFR program in Northeast Texas and CHRISTUS system in Texas- a non-invasive CT technology that aids Physicians in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease. Beyond her clinical and academic endeavors, Dr. Odigie-Okon has been involved in institutional committees including structural heart and chest pain committees, all aimed at improving healthcare delivery and raising the standard of patient care.
Her leadership and expertise in cardiac imaging continue to make significant impacts in the field, establishing her as a respected authority in advanced cardiovascular diagnostic methods.
