Dr. Mallett was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate education and attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio.
Her first two years of post-graduate training were at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She returned to Texas to complete her General Psychiatry Residency and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.
Dr. Mallett has proudly been a member of the UTMB Faculty since 1995. She is actively involved in community mental health and the education of medical students at UTMB.
