Jeff East completed his Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant studies at the University of the Texas Medical Branch in August of 1993. Two days after graduating, he started practicing in the UTMB Infectious Diseases clinic. His role has primarily been caring for patients with HIV infection/AIDS. He also treats patients with chronic hepatitis B and C infections as well.
Jeff's clinical interest includes the primary treatment of HIV with antiretrovirals, antiretroviral resistance, and diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections including herpes simplex, gonorrhea, chlamydia, human papillomavirus (genital and anal warts), and syphilis.
He is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCAP) and licensed by the Texas Board of Medical Examiners.
Jeff is an avid reader and loves Dachshunds, Coca Cola, and as of November 2020 is obsessed with Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian.
