  • Dr. Misha Syed is a glaucoma specialist with the UTMB Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. She serves patients at UTMB Eye Centers in Friendswood, League City, and Galveston.

    She is also the Residency Program Director for the Ophthalmology residency training program at UTMB.

    Dr. Syed has a special interest in treating advanced glaucoma, and in the newer medical and surgical treatments for glaucoma. She also conducts research in the area of residency education and serves on several national committees in her position as an Ophthalmology residency program director.

    Before joining the department in 2006, Dr. Syed completed a clinical fellowship in Glaucoma at the University of Texas (McGovern) Medical School - Houston in the Department of Ophthalmology, She completed her ophthalmology residency in the Department of Ophthalmology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She has lived most of her life in Texas and grew up in Galveston, and enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
