Where I See Patients

About Me

Christine Garwood, MSN, FNP, is a family nurse practitioner who cares for older children, teenagers, adults and older adults. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine, hypertension, diabetes and mental health. She strives to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care while recognizing each patient’s individual needs, circumstances and goals.

Garwood takes time to listen, understand the bigger picture and explain medical information in clear, practical terms. She values shared decision-making and encourages patients to ask questions and participate actively in their care. By combining clinical knowledge with compassion and a realistic approach, she helps patients identify sustainable ways to improve their health. Her patients appreciate that she takes their concerns seriously, explains the reasons behind her recommendations and works with them to find solutions that fit their lives.

Garwood earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) in Galveston. She has more than 17 years of nursing and advanced practice experience, including eight years as a registered nurse in medical-surgical care, home health and psychiatric care. Since becoming a nurse practitioner in 2017, she has practiced family medicine and geriatrics in rural Oregon.

An Angleton High School graduate, Garwood is excited to return to her hometown and serve the community that helped shape her. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, hiking and traveling. She also plays the flute in several community bands.

Patient Reviews

Why do some clinicians have no ratings?
At UTMB, a clinician's ratings are only posted when she/he has a minimum of 30 completed surveys within the past twelve months. New-to-UTMB clinicians or individuals in less common areas of practice may be temporarily under this threshold. We set this baseline to ensure we offer the most accurate reflection of each Individual.
