Dr. Kassem graduated from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon in 2005, and completed her Nephrology training at New York University School of Medicine in 2011. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Nephrology and HTN. She joined UTMB along with her husband who is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist in February 2015. In addition to the inpatient consult service, she sees at the UHC clinic and the Victory Lakes clinic patients with a diversity of renal diseases including glomerular diseases, chronic kidney disease, electrolytes disorders and HTN. She also follows chronic hemodialysis patients at the DaVita Island Dialysis unit. In addition she has a special interest in home dialysis including peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis and she follows patients at the home dialysis program at UTMB.
