  • Amanda Petersen is a Nurse Practitioner for the Trauma Division of the UTMB Department of Surgery.

    Amanda was born and raised in Northern California. She received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Pacific Union College in 2009, beginning a 10-year career as a Registered Nurse in a variety of inpatient hospital settings where she obtained specialty certifications in critical care, post-anesthesia care and progressive care. After relocating to the South due to her husband’s military career, Amanda and her family settled in Texas where she would obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. This would be followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at El Paso. She joined UTMB as a Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Specialist in 2019.

    Amanda is board certified in both emergency and family care by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

    In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and children, watching scary movies, gardening for pollinators and surfing.
