About Me
Dr. Jose Moonjely Davis, MD, FAASM, is dual board-certified in Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Davis earned his M.B.B.S. from St. John's Medical College in Bengaluru, India, before completing his Internal Medicine Residency—where he served as Chief Resident—at Western Reserve Health Education/NEOMED in Ohio. He subsequently completed a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Prior to joining UTMB, Dr. Davis held several leadership and academic roles, most recently serving as the Director of the Pulmonary Sleep Lab and an Assistant Professor at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During his tenure at Montefiore, he played a pivotal role in expanding clinical capacity. He successfully established comprehensive home sleep testing programs across ambulatory clinics, and he implemented workflow and technology innovations that significantly increased access to in-lab testing. Furthermore, he spearheaded the expansion of sleep services to new locations by integrating additional sleep physicians into clinics that previously lacked them.
Dr. Davis is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and serves on the Scientific Review Committee for the Sleep Research Society. He has previously served on the International Scientific Committee for the World Sleep Congress, acting as a Panel Reviewer, and currently contributes to the Curriculum Advisory Council for the World Sleep Academy. Alongside his clinical leadership, he maintains a strong professional interest in leveraging artificial intelligence and automation technology to eliminate redundant tasks and optimize healthcare delivery.
