About Me
Dr. Gary was born and raised in Mesquite, Texas and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2001. Dr. Gary received his medical degree and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. A fellowship in orthopaedic traumatology at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore completed his training. He spent a decade at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston before he was recruited to Los Angeles and the Keck Medical School of USC in the summer of 2021 as the Chief of the Orthopaedic Trauma Service. In Los Angeles, USC’s footprint in orthopaedic trauma in education and research grew nationally and internationally under his leadership. Dr. Gary's specialization into orthopaedic trauma surgery and the treatment of thousands of fractures, dislocations, malunions, nonunions, and fracture related infection in the pelvis, upper and lower extremities has provided a wealth of experience. He strives to continually improve and refine his treatments based upon those experiences, the best published evidence, and new technologies. Sharing his knowledge and various treatment options with the patient, from nonoperative to invasive surgery, allows for joint decision-making as the patient is part of the “team” with their surgeon.
