Gokhan Kilic, M.D is the Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Research in the Department of Obstetrics in Gynecology and is the holder of the endowed Faculty Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology Honoring Alvin L. LeBlanc, MD, Harry M. Little, Jr, MD and L Charles Powell, MD. Dr. Kilic was trained in minimally invasive surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital under the supervision of the pioneers in this field. He has worked at prestigious hospitals including Georgetown University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Parkland Hospital; he transferred from MD Anderson Cancer Center to UTMB to join a vibrant team offering women minimally invasive gynecology and services related to pelvic health and urogynecology.

He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and certified in Fundamental Laparoscopic Surgery by the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Kilic is a well-respected member of the Fellows of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American College of Surgeons. He was one of the earliest recognized robotic gynecologic surgeons in the Houston area. Dr. Kilic is also pioneer of single-incision robotic hysterectomy.

As a subspecialist in urogynecology, Dr. Killic has a special interest in helping patients address urine incontinence (leakage) and pelvic prolapse. He is also active in student, resident, and physician training in all aspects of minimally invasive surgery. He has numerous publications and ongoing projects in the field featuring laboratory, non-human studies, and clinical research.

Dr. Sarah Bruce is a physician specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Clear Lake Campus. She has a passion for women’s health with interests in general and high-risk obstetrics, contraception management, and minimally invasive and robotic surgery.

She was born and raised in the northeast, spending her childhood in New York before moving to Philadelphia with her family. She attended Pennsylvania State University for her undergraduate degree in Biology. She returned to Philadelphia where she was awarded a scholarship to attend Temple University School of Medicine, graduating with distinction in the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

She completed her Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency at the Houston Methodist Hospital. During residency, she was recognized not only for her dedication to teaching but also for her academic and surgical success. She achieved multiple awards including the Exemplary Resident Teacher Award, the Outstanding Minimally Invasive Surgeon Award, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy Award.

Amanda Miller, APRN, FNP-C, is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who specializes in pediatric primary care. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2008 from Texas A&M University. She then completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 2010. While working as a registered nurse Amanda specialized in the care of women and infants in labor and delivery. She went on to earn her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2019.

Amanda has been working in pediatric primary care since 2020 and is excited to continue serving the children and families of the UTMB community. She has a true passion for educating her patients and families on health practices and prevention that benefit the entire body, mind and spirit. She strives to bring a holistic approach to health care. Amanda is a true believer in the strength of the family and home unit in child health promotion. Care for children and families is her passion, and she is committed to providing high-quality health care.

Karen Williams, PA-C is a graduate of University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston. She has advanced training and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Her clinical interests include OB/GYN.

She has been married for 39 years and live with her husband in Beaumont, TX. She has adult 3 sons. She loves spending time with my family and listening to audio books.

Practicing medicine gives her the opportunity to demonstrate care for women in her community.

Samantha Green was born and raised in Galveston, Texas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UTMB Galveston in April 2012 and with a Master of Science in Nursing from UT Health Science Center in Houston, Texas in December 2020. She worked as an RN in Labor and Delivery for 6 years and for 2 years as a circulating nurse in the Operating Room specializing in gynecological procedures.

Samantha has a passion for Women's health and is proud to serve the community in which she was raised.

Bolanle Toriola FNP-C, APRN is a graduate of University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston. She has advanced training and is a certified family nurse practitioner. Her clinical interests include Pediatrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Crystal Alvarez is an Assistant Professor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She is committed to addressing all aspects of women's health with special interests in family planning, menstrual disorders, high-risk obstetrics, and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Alvarez graduated Cum Laude from Baylor University in 2006 with her Bachelor's degree in Biology. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2011 and did her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas Medical Branch where she received multiple resident teaching awards and served as Administrative Chief Resident her final year.

Dr. Alvarez is married and has one young daughter. She is currently practicing at the Clear Lake location and is taking new patients.
