Jose Aguirre, MD

Dr. Jose Aguirre is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston.

Dr. Aguirre earned his B.S degree in Biology in 2004 from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. After completing pre-doctoral research training at Massachusetts General Hospital, he obtained his M.D. degree in 2013 at the University of Texas Health Science Center-School of Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. At the University of Texas Medical Branch–Galveston he obtained a Masters in Medical Sciences in 2017 and completed the American Board of Internal Medicine Physician Scientist Subspecialty Research Pathway in 2019.

He is a member of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's South Texas Chapter Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), and serves as a Co-Chair for the Patient Education Subcommittee.
