Loan Truong, RN, BSN, MSN, AGACNP

Loan Truong is a dedicated Heart Failure Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiovascular Department at UTMB. She earned her Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Nursing from UTMB where she laid the foundation for her nursing career. Beginning her journey as a bedside nurse, Loan spent nearly five years in hands-on patient care from Family Medicine to Intensive Care Units, where she developed critical skills and a deep understanding of the nursing profession. She also had a chance to work as an advanced heart failure provider as Left Ventricle Assist Device (LVAD) coordinator working with an advanced multidisciplinary team for over a year building strong knowledge of how to manage complex heart failure patients. She is currently a heart failure advanced practice provider (APP) managing all types of heart failure patients in clinic as well as when hospitalized. Her experience as a heart failure APP not only enriched her clinical abilities but also fueled her passion for helping patients during their vulnerable moments. With a strong belief in the importance of passionate care, she believes in a holistic approach to healthcare, focusing not only on treating symptoms but also on empowering patients through education and support. Her dedication to improving patient outcomes is evident in her approach and commitment to continuous learning in the field of heart failure cardiology.
