About Me
Dr. Jackson is an Audiologist who specializes in disorders and rehabilitation of hearing and vestibular systems. She is the Director of the UTMB Center for Audiology and certified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and hold specialty certificate in tinnitus management (CH-TIM) through American Board of Audiology. Dr. Jackson is an active Past-president of the Texas Academy of Audiology and a member of the Texas Department of Licensure Speech-Audiology advisory board.
Dr. Jackson received her Doctor of Audiology degree from Northern Illinois University and completed her residency/externship year at Midwest Ear Institute at St Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She has a wealth of experiences in different areas of Audiology but her primary focus practice area is in hearing aids, tinnitus management, and electrophysiology. She has a keen interest in difficult to treat conditions including finding solutions for patients that have unresolved hearing concerns or difficult to fit hearing aid cases. Her outside of the box, patient-centered, and evidence-based approach to intervention has gained national attention with numerous contributions to professional and consumer publications.
Prior to joining UTMB, Dr. Jackson spent more than 10 years working as part of the Callier Center at UT Dallas working as a faculty associate, counseling and tinnitus lecturer, contributing researcher, and clinical educator for their renowned doctor of audiology program. She spearheaded multiple projects and innovative clinical practices including tinnitus, telehealth, 3-D printing, audiology assistant programs, and evidence-based practice standards.
During her free time, Dr. Jackson enjoys exploring Galveston beach-life with her wonderful family and dog. She is a native Iowan and proud Midwesterner through and through.
