About Me

Dr. Farrukh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. She earned her M.B.B.S. from King Edward Medical University in 2012 and has been American Board of Internal Medicine certified since 2018. Dr. Farrukh completed her Internal Medicine residency at Albert Einstein Montefiore Wakefield Hospital in New York, where she gained extensive training and expertise in the field.

Prior to joining UTMB, Dr. Farrukh served as an Internal Medicine consultant in the outpatient department of the University of Lahore in Pakistan. Her work there included managing a diverse range of medical cases and providing high-quality patient care. Additionally, Dr. Farrukh has held medical licenses in New York, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Farrukh has been recognized for her contributions to medical research and education. She was a National ACP New York Poster Finalist in 2016 for her clinical vignette on secondary adrenal insufficiency resulting from long-term use of skin-whitening creams. She has also delivered multiple oral presentations, including grand rounds on significant clinical trials such as the RESPECT Trial and the ORBITA Trial.

In 2023, Dr. Farrukh moved to Texas with her husband, who is a faculty member in the Cardiology department at UTMB. Her primary interest lies in preventive care, and joining the UTMB general medicine faculty provides her with the opportunity to explore this interest further.
