About Me
Dr. Altintas is an orthopedic surgeon with clinical and research experience in both Europe and the United States. He earned his medical degree from Heidelberg University School of Medicine in Heidelberg, Germany, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency training in Germany.
Following his transition to the United States, Dr. Altintas completed a research fellowship at The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado. He subsequently pursued advanced clinical fellowships in sports medicine at the University of Kentucky and in orthopedic trauma at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Prior to joining the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Dr. Altintas practiced at several high-volume, Level I trauma centers across the United States.
Dr. Altintas is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the German Society for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery (DGOU), German Society for Trauma Surgery (DGU), Society for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery (AGA), German Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (DVSE), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC), American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), Turkish Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), and AO Trauma North America.
He has contributed to the field of orthopedic surgery through peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presentations at national and international conferences. Dr. Altintas also serves as a reviewer for multiple leading orthopedic journals.
