About Me
Dr. Sarah El-Khazendar earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry then went on to complete a residency in Neurorehabilitation at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and an active member of American Optometric Association. Before joining UTMB, Dr. El-Khazendar served as an Associate Professor at Midwestern University, where she played a key role in both didactic and clinical education, mentoring future optometrists. Dr. El-Khazendar is deeply committed to working with pediatric patients, as well as patients post-brain injury requiring visual rehabilitation. During her spare time, Dr. El-Khazendar enjoys reading, hiking, and travel.
