About Me

Andrea M. Stark, D.O., FACP, DABOM is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, dual board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Stark earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine Residency, including a year as Chief Resident, at West Virginia University-Charleston/Charleston Area Medical Center.  She then completed an Obesity Medicine Fellowship at UT Houston Health Sciences Center of Texas Medical Center.  

An accomplished researcher and published author, Dr. Stark has contributed to numerous journal articles, abstracts, and posters. She is also a respected lecturer and mentor, having developed educational content for medical students and residents, and has been recognized with several honors, including Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and national awards from the ACP for clinical vignette presentations.

Dr. Stark is passionate about recognition of obesity as a chronic disease and continued medical education for expert-level quality care via multidisciplinary medical treatment in an era of novel, highly efficacious pharmacotherapy.  She maintains membership in the Obesity Medicine Association and The Obesity Society.
