  • Karen W. Kislingbury, MPAS, PA-C, CCTC, is a Physician Assistant and Cardiothoracic Transplant Coordinator in the Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She is a certified clinical transplant coordinator by the American Board for Transplant Certification.

    Ms. Kislingbury earned her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from UTMB in 1996 and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas, in 2014. Prior to her current position, Ms. Kislingbury was an Academic Hospitalist Physician Assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine at UTMB from 1998-2006.

    In her career, Ms. Kislingbury has remained actively involved in various UTMB hospital committees and is a member of several professional medical societies, including the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She has authored numerous articles in scientific journals and given several presentations in the field of physician assistant. Ms. Kislingbury has also been honored with several awards for her service at UTMB, including the Silent Angel Award given by the UTMB Nursing Service in 2010.
