She worked as a hospitalist in South Carolina prior to joining faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2008. She is an Assistant Professor of General Medicine at UTMB and Medical Director of the Anticoagulation Clinic. She is active clinically with a private clinic at Harborside Medical Group as well as supervising doctors in training at Jennie Sealy Hospital, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Hospital, and the Daniels clinic. She is involved in resident education, delivering lectures, and has taught medical students in the Practice of Medicine course.
