  • Dr. Saad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with the expertise in Critical Care Obstetrics, Education and Clinical research. He is also the Associate Director of the MFM fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Dr. Saad joined UTMB in 2009 and completed his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2013, followed by Critical Care and Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowships in 2016. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Critical Care and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

    His primary duties as a high-risk obstetrician, are to provide care to the most complicated obstetrical patients. He also supervises, performs and interprets maternal-fetal sonograms and provides patient counseling for maternal and fetal conditions. He has participated in the critical care of postoperative patients after complex surgeries such as organ transplants, and heart surgeries. He has an active role in the education of residents and fellows in different fields of medicine, including Anesthesia, Obstetrics and Surgery. Dr. Saad is actively involved in basic and clinical research and has mentored and supervised residents and fellows for many projects. He has published (or co-authored) numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, textbook chapters, reviews and has presented many award-winning abstracts (as posters or oral presentations) at national and international meetings. Dr. Saad is currently involved in several clinical trials. His research interest includes labor induction, maternal critical care and impact of fructose rich diets in pregnancy and offspring. His work has been mentioned in the international and national media, and has been cited numerous times, emphasizing its importance.
