  • Dr. Prashant Rai completed his MD at N.K.P. Salve Institute of Medical Science, Nagpur, India; Maharashtra University of Medical Sciences, Nashik, India. He completed Fellowship Training in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy in 2014 at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Following the completion of his Internship in Internal Medicine and Neurology Residency Training at UTMB in 2018, he completed an additional Fellowship in Neurophysiology at UTMB. He joined the faculty in the Department of Neurology at UTMB in 2019 as an Assistant Professor. He serves as Associate Program Director for Neurology Residency Training since 2020. Dr. Rai is an excellent clinician-educator-scholar and continues to make outstanding contributions in Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine. He is dual boarded in both Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. He has authored and co-authored 13 published manuscripts in excellent peer-reviewed clinical and scientific journals as well as a book chapter. He has published 20 abstracts and presentations at national and international scientific and clinical annual meetings and conferences. He has been the recipient of several awards and honors through the course of his professional career, which includes “2020 A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award” from the American Academy of Neurology, the “John R. Calverley, M.D. Faculty Teacher of the Year Award” 2019-2020 and the “Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award” in 2020 to name a few. During his free time, Dr. Rai enjoys swimming, reading, biking, hiking and playing Cricket.
