Dr. Jeffrey Fair was born and raised in North Carolina and earned his medical degree at East Carolina School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in kidney and liver transplantation at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a fellowship in pancreas transplantation at University of Minnesota Hospital. Fair served in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps from 1990 to 2004.
During his time in North Carolina, he held the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. He has also served in several leadership positions including Professor and Chief of Abdominal Transplantation with the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC, Director of Translational Research with Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, Professor of Surgery with the University of California at Los Angeles, and Professor and Chief of Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery with the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, FL.
Dr. Fair is an accomplished transplant surgeon with a passion for providing exceptional clinical care to his patients. His research interests include using liver stem cells to repair damaged or diseased livers, which he hopes will one day prevent some patients from needing liver transplants.
