Dr. Arun Singh Chhabra graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and then went on to obtain his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, where he served as the president of his medical school class. He completed his neurology residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL where he won the resident teaching award and also presented his research in Psychiatric Manifestations of Post-Concussive Syndrome. Subsequently, he trained at The University of California-Los Angeles for his stroke fellowship, one of the top stroke programs in the country.
Before joining UTMB, Dr. Chhabra served as the Stroke Medical Director of Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA and was responsible for the advancement of stroke care both in the region as well as the state.
Dr. Chhabra is fellowship trained in stroke and cerebrovascular diseases and also has an interest in concussion and multiple sclerosis. He spends half his time at UTMB - Clear Lake Campus where he serves as the Chief of Neurology and the other half of his time at UTMB - Galveston Campus. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball and traveling with his wife and family.
