At her previous instituiton, Dr. Wadhwani founded and served as director of the Glomerular Disease Program and started an Advanced Fellowship in Glomerular diseases, for which she was program director. She also co-founded a Rheum-Renal Lupus nephritis clinic.
She is passionate about bringing new therapies to patients with rare kidney diseases and helped build a robust clinical trial program. She was site PI or co-I for >10 clinical trials including the pivotal phase 3 trial that led to FDA approval for the first drug for IgA nephropathy. Additionally, she has had NIH-funding as site PI for the CureGN consortium and is a co-I for the FDA-sponsored Prepare-NS study.
Dr. Wadhwani has been invited to speak about glomerular diseases at various national and international meetings including the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), National Kidney Foundation (NKF), and European Renal Association (ERA) annual meetings. She has also chaired or served on multiple medical advisory boards and steering committees, including 2 global expert panels.
