Podiatry providers help prevent, diagnose, and treat people who have foot and ankle problems. They do not see patients with foot injuries or trauma. If you are needing to be seen for a foot injury, please see our orthopedic foot and ankle providers.
About Me
Dr. Chanel Perkins is a native Houstonian. She graduated from Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions, fueling an early interest in medicine and health care. She went on to complete her undergraduate education at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Perkins later attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH, where she received her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Perkins completed a three-year comprehensive foot and ankle surgical residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. During her final year of training, she served as Section Chief Resident. While at Yale, Dr. Perkins received extensive training in elective, trauma, and reconstructive surgery. A significant focus of her training was the multidisciplinary approach towards diabetic limb salvage and diabetic wound care.
Dr. Perkins is a current member of several professional organizations including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatry Medical Association, Mary Susan Moore Medical Society, and the Texas Podiatric Medical Association.
